New Graduate Program

Our Physio Co will support you every step of the way as you make the transition from student to independent practitioner.

If you are admitted to our New Graduate Program, you will work alongside a team of physiotherapists who are passionate about improving the lives of older Australians and love what they do. You will have a comprehensive orientation to the work environment with opportunities to shadow and learn from other physiotherapists “on the job”.

You will be mentored by friendly, hardworking physiotherapists with a strong knowledge base across all areas of physiotherapy and sound clinical reasoning skills. We will help you develop clinical best practice and quality service delivery.

We will provide you with specific training in:

Manual handling
Equipment prescription
Falls risk management
Pressure care risk and management
Communication with people living with dementia
Understanding quality accreditation and funding systems

There are opportunities to attend learning events and support is available for external professional development events.

Overseas trained physiotherapists

Are you an overseas trained physiotherapist working in Australia or do want to build your career in Australia?

We would love to hear from you and discuss opportunities to work as a limited registration physiotherapist with our team. Your work will be in line with AHPRA guidelines for limited registration physiotherapists with supervision and mentoring from experienced physiotherapists.

We understand the process to full registration can be challenging and we are here to support and assist you through every step of the journey. We offer 40 hours of continuing education specifically to help you prepare for APC examinations. We also provide mentoring and guidance from experienced physiotherapists within Our Physio Co.

We call on the expertise of physiotherapy colleagues working in other areas (e.g. cardiothoracic care) to offer guidance and support when needed. We will help you make contacts with other physiotherapists preparing to sit the examinations and set up study groups to help you support each other along the way.

We will assist you with all the documentation and paperwork required to support you on the journey to full registration.
